Dofus book 1 julith review9/19/2023 ![]() MFKZ wears its love of anime on its sleeve from minute one, but where some projects would make this a distraction and substitute for story, this film…also does to some extent. Prior to this, the only film experience they had was “Dofus Book 1: Julith” in 2016, which displayed their impressive range of talent and likely contributed to this adaptation of a comic that came from their country and shares their anime-influenced sensibilities. Ankama is no slouch though, having started as a video game company and only have a handful of animated shows to their names, which are mainly adaptations of those games, “Wakfu” and “Dofus”. Studio 4C is no stranger to international projects, having worked on anthology films for American properties like “The Animatrix”, “Batman: Gotham Knight”, and “Halo Legends”, as well as co-producing both “Transformers: Animated” and the 2011 Thundercats reboot with Cartoon Network. It’s hard to say which studio had more influence on this film since both have their own unique flair that blends together well here. Soon, he and his skull-faced friend Vinz are targeted by government agents, immortal luchadores, poetic gangsters, and a strange society that could link Angelo’s powers to extraterrestrial origins. The story centers around a kid named Angelino living life on the mean streets of Dark Meat City, until ogling a cute girl lands him a car accident which triggers strange visions and abilities he never knew he had. In this case, it’s the combined styles of Studio 4C (Celsius) from Japan and France’s slowly growing powerhouse Ankama Animations to adapt an indie French comic set in California. To top it off, Dofus: Book 1 Julith it’s a movie a movie which shows us the value of the one’s closest to us, our family. In these times when people seem more divided than ever, it’s always nice when talent from across the globe come together on a project that can show us just what we can accomplish united. And how could you ever forget the overflowing tunes of color in the different places the movie comes to take place, each one planed out perfectly to give the movie even more harmony than it already had. It makes the movie gain even more like than it already had from both the animation and the voice acting. The soundtrack in the movie couldn´t have been more on point as it already is, varying from intense fighting/final boss themes to carefree playful tones. But, for those who like good plots and an intense 2-hour adventure, this is totally the bread for you! So, if you don’t really connect with fantasy and fairy powder you should probably be better of no watching the movie at all. Having put it to the test, most people that aren’t into the fantasy and the adventure genre have indeed fallen asleep within 20 minutes into the movie. ![]() However, and even if it hurts my heart to say it, this movie couldn´t have been as fast paced as a snail. Full of emotions and awesome battle scenes, it will make you either cry or laugh. It tells us the tale of a 10 year old kid named Joris as he finds who his real family is. This movie presents us with a somewhat unusual plot, for what children movies refers. Dofus is a well-crafted piece of art that for financial issues wouldn´t meet with the requirements to go on a full worldwide release. One of those unique movies that present to us a fluent animation capable of putting Disney to shame. In which we came to realize is our family really ours? how long will they last? And so, Is the questions that our little hero Joris carries own throughout the movie, Dofus: Book 1 Julith. Whoever, many are the problems that arise within this so-called concept. Family, a concept so normal to our society that it would seem totally pointless to those who carry on with a normal not rich neither poor life. ![]()
